The Chrisofix Thumb Orthosis is a medical device designed to provide first aid and stabilization for the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the thumb. It is X-ray transparent, allowing for imaging without removal. This medium-sized orthosis is ideal for immobilizing and supporting the thumb following sprains, strains, or other injuries. It is also suitable for post-operative care after thumb surgery and for the conservative treatment of degenerative diseases affecting the thumb joint. For conditions like saddle joint osteoarthritis, the manufacturer recommends using other Chrisofix orthosis models. The device must be adjusted directly on the injured area for optimal fit and support; any rough adjustments, such as bending, should be performed on a non-injured finger or area before application.
